Poipu Golf

Golf courses in Kauai are diverse as the island itself. From sun-drenched ocean side links in Poipu, to spectacular waterfalls of the North Shore, to the mountain-filled East Side, Kauai’s scenery and terrain can add a new dimension to the Hawaii golf vacation you’ve always dreamed of.

Poipu Bay

The Poipu Bay golf course is backed by lush emerald mountains with links sculpted from a rolling plateau eight stories above the expansive blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Even the most focused golfer will be challenged by breathtaking views from each and every hole. Nestled among the gentle contours of Poipu Bay you’ll discover the remains of Hawaiian heiau (places of worship) and ancient stone walls. As if this wasn’t enough, Poipu Bay’s nature presents one beautiful distraction after another, from native nene geese and rare Hawaiian monk seals to green sea turtles and humpback whales. You’ll have lots of excuses to back your scorecard! World renowned architect Robert Trent Jones II, skillfully included many ancient remnants of an authentic Hawaiian village into the design of the Kiahuna Golf Club. Your experience will include the course’s beauty, along with a sense of the Kauai region’s enduring history.

Kaua’i Lagoons

It’s said that when Jack Nicklaus created the Kiele Course, the terrain lent itself so well to his vision that he made but a single change to his original design. It’s no surprise, then, that this incredible 7,070-yard resort course is hailed as one of the finest golf gems in the Pacific. The Kiele has a sense of style uniquely its own. Fairways weave along imposing ocean cliffs, over promontories high above Nawiliwili Harbor, and among some 40 acres of fresh water lagoons. Lush groves of exotic foliage thrive amongst the holes. A solitary rotunda sits on the water off the 17th tee, making an exquisite wedding chapel.

Princeville Prince Course

Prince Course Golf Digest has named The Prince Course the Number One golf course in the State of Hawaii. It is also included in their prestigious list of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” The Prince is one of Hawaii’s most challenging golf courses, with a USGA course rating of 75.3 and a 145 slope. But fear not. Five different tees on each hole allow you to set your own challenge. Named after Prince Albert, the only son of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, The Prince is Robert Trent Jones, Jr.’s masterpiece. Looking as if it had emerged full-blown from nature, it chugs uphill, jumps ravines and careens downhill like a roller-coaster.

Princeville Makai Course

Golf Digest lists the Princeville Makai Course in its Top 50 Resort Courses, and has included it in “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” for 16 consecutive years. The Makai is really three courses in one: the Ocean Nine – venturing closest to the Pacific, the Lakes Nine – winding its way around serene lakes and the Woods Nine – diverting its way through native woodlands.

Rainbows, views of the Pacific Ocean and lush landscape that was used in the Jurassic Park films are what you’ll experience in addition to the great golf at Puakea Golf Course. Robin Nelson, Hawaii’s most prolific golf course architect, designed the course to play around deep ravines and streams fed by fresh mountain rain water. With the inspirational terrain and calming mountain range backdrop, you’ll find Puakea Golf Course to play differently when the Hawaiian trade winds come into play. Nelson’s masterful architecture clearly conveys the routes one should take to achieve textbook pars. He hints enticingly at ways to achieve challenging birdies, while being able to read the greens will be a key in this challenge.
