Yoga in Poipu
Relaxing Hawaii Vacations
Yoga is a practice to blend the spirit and physical body together in harmony. Mostly focusing on stretching and breathing exercises, it has shown to have many positive effects on a person’s overall health.
Yoga can be especially peaceful when done outside on beautiful Kauai. There are many Poipu yoga classes and instructors in the area offer drop-in sessions:
Gentle Garden Yoga is an oceanside yoga class next to the Poipu Kai Resort, 1941 Poipu Rd. It’s Anahata yoga with a focus on breathing exercises, making it perfect for beginners or seniors. Classes are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9 a.m. and runs until 10:15 a.m. The instructor brings mats but it’s recommended to bring a towel and water. The fee is $15.
Kalaheo Yoga, located at 4427 Papalina Road, offers a variety of yoga styles, from Iyengar to Vinyasa, as well as restorative classes. A single class price is $18, or a three class card is $48.
Kauai Oceanfront Yoga is practiced outdoors at the Koloa Landing Resort, 2641 Poipu Rd., on Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. This Hatha yoga class is open to all levels, no reservations are required, and is $20 (cash only). The instructor asks the participants to bring one or two beach towels and a yoga mat, though the towels will suffice.
