Boogie-mazing
My friends son was showing us some tricks in the waves at Poipu Beach Park. Crazy what you can do with that little boogie board!
Anniversaries are the best!
We just celebrated our 2nd anniversary, we got married at Whalers Cove. The original ceremony was blended with a Hawaiian ritual by a Kapuna from Kauai, that we will never forget for the rest of our lives. We will always have a reason to go back to one of the most beautiful spots on earth and celebrate our anniversary. We threw our leis over the rocks out front and they came back in!
Hawaiian Monk Seals at Poipu Beach Park
This is our favorite beach! There are 3 different swimming places, and great snorkeling! Don’t worry about packing a lunch, there is a great fresh deli at Brenneke’s right there! Monk seals were there every day! These two didn’t seem to mind all the people!
Spouting Horn
This is just like the blow hole on Oahu, but you can get closer. Sounds like a dragon breathing down in there! We also got photos from the water. This is a great little walk from Whalers Cove. We walked out here every morning!
Yellow Orchid
The orchid garden at Whalers Cove is a photographers dream. Every shape and color you could image, all in bloom! I photographed each one, and had them all framed when we got home. This yellow one was my favorite!
Sunrise January
Sunsets seem to get all the glory, but if you are an early riser, head down to the pool deck and take amazing photos of the sunrise! This was our favorite time of day, just as the birds start singing!
Humuhumunukunukuuapuaa
I think that’s how you spell it. This is the State Fish. While we were at the beach, this man rescued the fish who was trapped in a tiny tide pool. I didn’t realize how colorful they are. We had to go snorkeling after that!
Sunset Sail
This is the best photo ever! I was trying to get the sunset just as it was going down. Out of no where, this catamaran sailed right into the sun. Perfect timing!
Stand Up Paddle
This is a must do! We rented boards and started off slow at Poipu Beach Park. After we got our bearings we paddled right out in the cove! Didn’t plan on doing this, but highly recommend it! Even for beginners!
Sunset in March
This was taken right out on the front lawn at Whalers Cove. We were here for 2 weeks, and every sunset was special. We watched for the Green Flash, and saw it twice! Hard to photograph though.
