The Koloa Wine Shop Wine Tasting
The Wine Shop, located in the heart of Koloa Town, is a favorite stop for both Kauai residents and visitors. Check out the complimentary monthly wine tasting on the first Saturday of each month from 4-7 pm. The event showcases affordable wines and locally made specialty products available in the store. Kauai Fashion Weekend

The fourth annual Kauai Fashion Weekend brings local Hawaiian designers together with international designers to showcase beach wear and evening wear for men and women. The show is at 7:30 p.m. but there’s a VIP dinner prior to the event at 6 p.m.

Pedal to the Meadow 2016

Ride the hill from Kekaha at sea level to Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Koke`e State Park over Memorial Day weekend! You’ll have incredible views during the challenging 15.75-mile ride that gains 3,835 feet in elevation. The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

28th Annual Taste of Hawaii – The Ultimate Sunday Brunch

The Taste of Hawaii is an annual food and wine tasting event on Kauai! It’s a fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Kapaa but brings together more than 40 chefs from Hawaii and 15 beverage vendors to serve you amazing samples. There’s also live entertainment and beautiful views of the 30-acre Smith’s Tropical Paradise. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 5 and tickets are $100 online or $125 at the door.

King Kamehameha Celebration and Floral Parade

This free event celebrates our state holiday honoring King Kamehameha the Great. Kamehameha was the first monarch of Hawaii and established the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1810. Watch the parade, enjoy live entertainment including hula, and shop at craft and food booths. The celebrations begin at 9 a.m. and go until 2 p.m.

PMRF Independence Day Freedom Celebration

Garden Isle Artisan Fair

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., shop the artisan fair that attracts more than 30 of Kauai’s best artisans, photographers, and jewelers. You can also find quality food items, soaps, and candles. The event is free and family-friendly.

Koloa Plantation Days

Various locations in Koloa and Poipu

This annual festival honors the heritage of plantation work on the South Shore with a series of events, activities, and a classic rodeo. There are educational lectures, films, games, and coordinated hikes. The annual parade is on Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. This is truly a unique and fun Hawaiian festival on Kauai.

Soto Zen Bon Festival
July 22 – 23, 2016
Soto Zen Temple

Experience traditional Japanese folk dancing, singing, and taiko (drums) performances. This free event is open to everyone and also includes festival foods and cultural exhibits. The festival celebrates the Japanese-American culture that’s evolved on Hawaii through five generations.

Heiva I Kauai 2016
August 6 – 7, 2016
Kapa`a Beach Park, Kapa`a, HI

The Heiva I Kauai is an international Tahitian dance competition. See otea, aparima, and ahupurotu dances as well as drumming performances from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are only $6 per person though children under the age of six are admitted for free. Tickets are sold at the gate and the festival also has clothing, crafts, jewelry, and food for sale.

Paradise Ride
August 6 – 7, 2016
Experience Kauai’s breathtaking scenery and beauty on this 120-mile bike ride. The emphasis is that it’s a ride and not a race so find a stable pace and enjoy the stunning views of the beaches, jungles, and mountains. The ride raises funds for Malama Pono Health Services and registration can be completed online.

Kauai Marathon
September 4, 2016
Poipu

The Kauai Marathon will put you in a runner’s paradise, or at least paradise as you run through Poipu! The marathon starts at 6 a.m. next to the Poipu Shopping Village. Racers can choose either the full or half marathon and must attend the Kauai Marathon Sports and Fitness Expo on Friday or Saturday prior to the race. There is also a 3-mile fun run on Saturday, Sept. 3 for registered runners and non-registered local residents.

Malie Foundation Kauai Mokihana Festival

2016 Kauai Powwow

The Powwow is a free family-friendly event where Native Americans exchange values and traditions with us to enrich our cultural appreciation and respect of other groups. The protection of these cultural traditions through a festival was granted the status of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The event honors Polynesian and Native American songs, dances, and drumming.

Annual Coconut Festival
October 1 – 2, 2016

This fun annual festival is always the first weekend in October and celebrates all things coconut: Cooking demonstrations, games, contests, food, and entertainment! Events on Saturday are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and events on Sunday run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is $5 per person but free for children 12 and under. Kids will love the inflatables and petting zoo as well as the live music and games.

Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run
November 12, 2016
The 14th annual run is at Anne Knudsen Park and has a race for every runner or walker. The event has a 5Km, 10Km, half-marathon, and non-competitive 5K walk. The first wave begins at 7 a.m. and there are registration fees depending on the competition you enter.

24th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival “Kauai Style”
November 20, 2016
Kauai Beach Resort, Lihue, HI

This six-hour long concert brings together some of the finest guitar players in the slack key genre. The entry fee is only $10 at the door and begins at noon.

Festival of Lights 2016
December 2, 2016
Historical County Building, Lihue, HI

This free, month-long event showcases dazzling holiday light displays every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night from 6 – 8 p.m. in December. This event is family-friendly. On Friday, Dec. 2, there’s an all-day crafts fair in the Kauai Museum and then the Lights on Rice Street parade at 6 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Celebration at Poipu Beach Park
